ORIGINAL equipment (OE) parts suppliers have launched a campaign to encourage the use of original fitment parts.

The campaign rails against what the signatories describe as a 'race to the bottom' in the parts market in terms of price and quality.

Companies behind the campaign, which include NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd, KYB UK, Mann-Filter, Remy, Sogefi, ZF Services UK Ltd and Banner Batteries, compare it to the recent consumer controversy over the discovery of horse meat in burgers and other food products.

Launched on a page two advert in the June issue of Aftermarket  under the banner - "OE Suppliers, Our Quality, Your Reputation" the campaign has also had a number of leaflets printed to hammer home its message.
