Mike Harding of Harding Auto Services in Woking, has been named the winner of Top Technician 2014.

Mike beat Jerry Carroll of Carrolls Garage in Paisley in the competition, winning a prize fund worth over £16,000 as well as the coveted trophy. The technician triumphed in the finals at the Honda Institute in Slough, where skills were put to the test over a range of tasks designed to explore every aspect of the final six's skills.

On receiving his award, Mike commented: "I had a great time, I don't think there is a particular winner or loser in the competition, the biggest winner is the industry as we can see it is moving forward. There has been a great camaraderie[between the finalists] and I would encourage others to be a part of it."

Jerry also took home a prize fund worth over £5,000.

The results were announced at Top Technician Live, attended by over 100 technicians who were able to speak with suppliers and view demonstrations of the latest products, as well as listen in to experts giving technical advice and information in seminars and Q&As.
