LKQ Euro Car Parts launches e-learning suite

Published:  12 March, 2021

LKQ Euro Car Parts has launched a new e-learning suite that covers a wide range of topics, from MOTs and diagnostics to hybrids and EVs, as well as specifics like brakes, electrics, A/C and steering and suspension.

Health and safety, HR compliance, business compliance and management courses will be added soon as well.

AutoEducation is part of the LKQ Euro Car Parts workshop solutions division, which oversees the provision of training and equipment in the independent aftermarket. Workshop
Solutions Director Adam White commented: “As a business, we’ve already talked a lot about digitalisation being the aftermarket’s biggest opportunity in 2021. We and our customers have a shared responsibility to develop our digital capabilities, with a view to driving efficiencies and improving the long-term competitiveness of the independent aftermarket. Our new e-learning suite is key to this.

“The launch is underpinned by the widespread adoption of remote working practices. We have plans in place to continue offering COVID-secure, face-to-face learning for customers who work best in a classroom setting when the time is right, and we now have an additional, digital option for those who prefer more flexibility.”

Full risk assessments have been carried out at all 20 of LKQ Euro Car Parts’ UK training centres, to ensure compliance with the latest health and safety guidelines, as face-to-face training returns later in the year as part of the eased restrictions set out by the government.

The 2021 classroom schedule will help to bring more than 1,500 new hybrid-trained technicians up to at least Level 3 standard, as well as featuring courses on diagnostics and MOT training, and business support and customer service skills.

Adam added: “Our focus is on helping independent garages run successful, competitive businesses, now and in the future. That means ensuring they’ve got the knowledge and skills to work with the latest vehicles, while delivering a professional customer experience and meeting industry requirements.”

Signing up for AutoEducation is free. Courses can be completed and paid for on a one-off basis, or unlimited access with a 12-month gold membership costs £1,499. Courses are fully accredited by the IMI and City & Guilds.
