Textar expands brake pad and disc range

TMD’s Textar brand has launched 13 new brake pad part numbers and three new disc assemblies. The release covers a number of passenger car applications, including models from BMW, DS, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, Vauxhall, and Volkswagen.More can be found out about the latest TMD Friction products via the Textar Brakebook online catalogue. - TMD Friction enhances parts look up with Brakebook
TMD Friction has enhanced its brake parts look-up service for garages and factors with the introduction of Brakebook, an online and app-based portal. The new and improved system now includes a vehicle registration look-up which identifies brake parts using a vehicle’s registration number. Other features include product catalogue downloads, regular updates on new-to-range products and an expert search functionality, allowing users to search by size of component. A final improvement- a brake pad scanner -has also been incorporated for Textar. Brakebook is available across Apple and Android devices.

- New Textar cardboard packaging cuts out 40 tonnes of plastic waste
TMD Friction has developed new corrugated cardboard packaging for its Textar passenger car brake discs, which will save 40 tonnes of plastic each year. The cardboard will replace the plastic film to separate passenger car discs so it will not stick to the brake disc coating.

Textar has widened its aftermarket product range via the new addition of expanding locks, intended to ensure reliable handbrake function. Damage to expanding locks is common in certain drum brake designs as the condition of the handbrake can only be determined when the brake discs are removed. Most manufacturers recommend replacing expanding locks every four years. Textar, which is manufactured by TMD Friction, covers 99.9% of the UK car parc and includes pads, discs, accessories and brake fluid.
