TMD Friction technical team qualify on EVs and Hybrids

TMD Friction’s UK technical team has passed the IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement.

Technical Sales Representative Stuart Incledon and Field Technical Support James Harper took on 12 hours of online technical training and one full day in an assessment training centre to achieve the qualification.

The content of the qualification contains two mandatory units. EV2.2 covers all of the skills and knowledge from the IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles Routine Maintenance Activities. Meanwhile, EV3 covers skills in working safely on an electric or hybrid vehicle, using information to carry out the task; carrying out repairs on high energy electrical systems and recording information and making suitable recommendations.

TMD Friction Head of Technical Training Scott Irwin MIMI said: “We recognise the value of continued CPD training at TMD and we pride ourselves on supporting our employees with their ongoing learning and development, as automotive technology continues to evolve. It’s important that, as an industry, we invest in the required training and resources to futureproof our team and businesses so that we can continue to repair and maintain the growing vehicle parc.”

He added: “I’d like to offer my congratulations to both Stuart and James on passing the course with flying colours and would also like to thank Ben Stockton at OVA for the great training the team had from him and the team.”
