An expanded range of brake discs added to AISIN’s ADVICS brake systems product line

AISIN is adding around 1,000 references to its ADVICS braking components range – which already includes brake pads, brake fluid, master cylinders and wheel cylinders – in a move that will eventually make the range compatible with 97% of the European vehicle fleet.

The new ADVICS discs have been designed for use in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, and the portfolio is supported by the experience gained by ADVICS, whose products are fitted as original equipment on 50% of Japanese models, and in one in ten vehicles worldwide. In the electric vehicle segment (hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles), its brake discs already cover more than 50% of the main applications.

The brake discs are delivered ready to fit, eliminating additional preparation steps. The range also benefits from the application of an integral silver protective coating for enhanced corrosion protection. The design of these brake discs ensures the greater thermal stability required to limit any variation in disc thickness. It also helps to reduce vibration and improve stability under braking. All these characteristics are essential for urban applications, as well as for hybrid and full electric vehicles, where regenerative braking can increase exposure to corrosion. 

All ADVICS brake discs comply fully with ECE Regulation 90 (ECE-R90), guaranteeing the level of braking efficiency required under European legislation.
