Availability of R134a is on the decline

Over the next six years quota reductions for HFC refrigerants will have a huge impact on the availability of R134a.
On January 1 this year, there was a further 31% reduction on the UK HFC quota vs 2023 with discussions underway to bring in an unplanned 10-15% reduction next year and an expected 50% reduction in 2027.
National R456A is a new lower GWP (global warming potential) alternative to R134a in automotive aftermarket air-conditioning.
National R456A has almost the same capacity and efficiency vs R134a while having only half the GWP.
National R456A could be the solution to this problem. With a GWP of 626 vs 1,300 (R134a) manufacturers can make more than twice the amount of refrigerant using the same quota. Fully compatible with existing R134a systems and equipment with no seal replacement or oil change required.
Not only is R456a more sustainable, but the emissions from leaks also have a significantly reduced effect on global warming.
