Clunky gears

A number of vehicles now have sealed automatic gearboxes but manufacturers are now finding that degradation of the oil occurs over time and this can lead to judder, noise and a gradual deterioration of gear change quality. The oil in modern automatic transmission is highly engineered to serve several purposes such as cooling, lubrication and promoting hydraulic application of clutches and power transmission via the torque converter. Transmission fluid and filter changes are now being recommended after 50,000 miles to ensure it is performing at its best. Wynn Oil has launched the TranServe Machine and Automatic Transmission Flush to be used during this task. The machine has been designed to make this a much simpler task, changing around 90% of the contaminated fluid.
