Delphi Academy gears up for Top Technician semi-finals
29 September 2025
Delphi Academy is once again set to welcome the nation’s top vehicle technicians as it prepares to host the semi-finals of the Top Awards 2025 on October 4.
At the state-of-the-art training centre in Warwick, 10 of the UK’s leading technicians will go head-to-head in a series of demanding, hands-on challenges designed to push their skills, knowledge, and problem-solving abilities to the limit.
“This is one of the most exciting events in the calendar,” said Luke Garratt, UK technical services manager at Delphi.
“Hosting the Top Awards allows us to celebrate the incredible expertise of these technicians while giving them a professional environment to test their abilities under pressure. These individuals are setting the benchmark and shaping the future of the industry.”
Grand final
Now in its 23rd year, the Top Technician competition has become the definitive test of diagnostic excellence in the independent aftermarket.
Competitors progress through multiple rounds, from online assessments to live practical challenges, with the semi-finals at Delphi Academy marking the penultimate stage. Only five technicians will advance to the grand final at the academy on November 15.
Garratt said: “The semi-finals are about more than technical skill. Technicians face problems they’ve never encountered before, within real-world constraints and tight time limits. The pressure of the day reveals who is exceptional and who is truly outstanding.”
‘Essential’
Delphi Academy’s cutting-edge facilities provide the perfect setting for these high-stakes challenges, offering participants access to the latest diagnostic equipment and realistic vehicle scenarios. The event also underscores the importance of structured training and ongoing professional development in meeting the demands of today’s rapidly evolving vehicles.
“Events like this are essential for the trade,” Garratt said. “They inspire technicians, raise industry standards, and highlight the value of continuous learning. We are proud to support these exceptional individuals as they take the next step in the competition.”
The Top Awards winners will be announced in the evening of November 15 at a gala dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Coventry.
Aftermarket revealed the list of semi-finalists earlier this month.
