DENSO joins forces with Barnsley College

DENSO has teamed up with Barnsley College, with the parts supplier sending in guest speakers to  give technical presentations for students on relevant mechanical courses, as well as supplying examples of key vehicle parts, consumables and personal protective equipment for use by students.

Commenting on the support the company is offering the college, DENSO UK and Eire Sales Manager Kevin Peacocke said: “DENSO manufactures a wide range of components for vehicle manufacturers around the globe, specialising in various technologies, including ignition with oxygen sensors, spark plugs and glow plugs, diesel with fuel pumps and injectors, rotating electrics with alternators and starters, as well as a comprehensive air conditioning portfolio”

“This means that we are in a position to provide the college with examples of these parts, giving them important real world experience of handling these products and understanding the roles they play within a vehicle’s systems. In addition, we will be supplying everyday consumable items like magnetic bowls to keep nuts, bolts, screws and washers to hand, and overalls to provide trainees with the personal protection they need while in the workshop.”

Kevin added: “Actively contributing to the educational lives of the next generation of automotive technicians is a privilege we appreciate and a responsibility we are pleased to embrace, so we wish both Barnsley College and the young people that study within it, great success and we are proud to play an active role in this important partnership.”
