GS Yuasa International and Honda to develop lithium-ion batteries
GS Yuasa International is looking to team up with Honda to lithium-ion batteries.
Osamu Murao, President and Representative Director of GS Yuasa International, said: “Through this new collaboration with Honda, we aim to contribute to the further spread of electrified vehicles, deliver comfort and peace of mind to customers around the world, and create new value to achieve carbon neutrality.”
Andrew Taylor, Managing Director and CEO at GS Yuasa Battery Europe, added: “We are delighted to hear the announcement of GS Yuasa Corporation’s collaboration with Honda. It is another step forward for the GS Yuasa group as we continue our development of future technologies in collaboration with our key partners.”
The two Japanese companies aim to set up a joint venture, including a supply chain and production system, to meet the growing demand for lithium-ion batteries by the end of 2023.
