Halfords appoints Haywood as chief information officer

Halfords has appointed Sarah Haywood as chief information officer.

Haywood, whose appointment was effective November 3, joins Halfords with over 25 years of technology leadership experience across some of the world’s leading consumer brands, including Cadbury Schweppes.

She succeeded Adam Gerrard, who left the business at the end of October.

Most recently, Haywood was global CIO at the Carlsberg Group, where she led a major transformation of the company’s digital and technology infrastructure.

Halfords CEO Henry Birch said Haywood’s experience in transforming technology capabilities across complex global organisations will be invaluable as the company further develops its systems to deliver a better experience for our customers and colleagues, and to prepare the business for future growth.

Haywood said: “Over the coming years digital transformation will play a key role in shaping the future of the business and I am very excited about being part of that journey.”
