Kumho hails tyre test rating award

Kumho has welcomed an ‘exemplary’ rating award for its ECSTA PS71 summer tyre.
The rating was earned in AutoBild’s 2025 Summer Tyre Test for 225/40R18, securing fourth place for its outstanding performance in dry and the best result in wet conditions of the tested tyres.
The German automotive publication tested 52 summer tyres as part of its annual evaluation.
Kumho said its tyre was the only one to receive the highest possible score of ‘1’ in the wet handling category, confirming its superiority in grip and control under challenging conditions.
Testers also praised the PS71’s aquaplaning resistance. Handling and braking were also highlighted as standout qualities.
Cost efficiency was another area where the PS71 excelled, being one of the best performers in terms of price-to-mileage ratio, Kumho said.
PS71 is being progressively replaced by Kumho with its new ECSTA Sport product, though PS71 SUV and PS71 EV will remain in the range.
Matthias Bode, Kumho’s head of R&D for Europe, said “Our focus remains on developing tyre technologies that meet the evolving needs of drivers worldwide.”
