LKQ announces new leadership appointments

LKQ UK & Ireland has strengthened its top team with the appointment of a new chief operating officer, alongside a new business to business (B2B) trade director and divisional director for the south within LKQ Euro Car Parts.

The aftermarket specialist said today it has appointed Tony Shearer to chief operating officer, who brings 16 years of experience within the company to the LKQ board.

Shearer succeeds Richard Morgan, who is stepping down ahead of retirement. Morgan will continue to serve on the executive board as a board advisor.

As COO, Shearer will take responsibility for logistics and supply chain operations, as well as the commercial operations team supporting the UK and Ireland group. Tony will report to Ferdinando Imhof, chief procurement and supply chain officer.

Shearer was most recently group logistics director, where he oversaw LKQ’s major logistics operation that delivers more than 55,000 orders daily to technicians across the UK and Ireland.

Meanwhile, Matt Robinson has been appointed as LKQ Euro Car Parts’ new B2B trade director.

He will oversee the motor factor’s relationships with more than 25,000 independent garages and workshops nationwide. LKQ said Robinson’s focus will also be on shaping future strategy development to ensure customers have access to the expertise, products and training to support their growth.

Robinson joined LKQ five years ago as regional manager for the south west, with extensive experience in field management and retail. He was most recently regional director for the south and will report to chief commercial officer Andy Southby.

Adam Ince takes over as divisional director for the south, responsible for overseeing LKQ’s 135 branches across the region. He brings 23 years of experience in the sector to the post and was most recently sales director at GSF Car Parts.

LKQ’s CEO Kevan Wooden praised departing COO Morgan for playing a key role in the transformation of the business over the last five years, “in particular for driving industry leading availability through world class logistics and supply chain planning”.

Wooden said Morgan had also championed support to Ukraine, “where he and the team delivered 27 ambulances and numerous aid packages to the children of Ukraine”.
