LKQ UK & Ireland reveals £64,000 communities boost

LKQ UK & Ireland has revealed it has donated more than £64,000 to 139 community causes across the nation.
The cash boost covered a range of activities, from supporting grassroots football teams to supporting vital palliative care charities, through its 280-strong LKQ Euro Car Parts branch network over the past year.
The money was donated through LKQ UK & Ireland’s Community Branch Fund scheme, which was launched in 2023 to help branches access funds to donate to projects and charitable causes close to the hearts of their colleagues and communities.
Almost half of the UK-wide donations were used to support sports clubs and initiatives in branches’ local communities.
Use of these funds ranged from supporting a kickboxing team to compete in New York, to buying a new training kit for Redcar Town’s under-12s lionesses team.
Investments
LKQ branches in the south-east contributed the most out of any region, donating more than £12,700 for 24 causes. Funding included providing specialist equipment to a local hospice, multiple investments into community sports clubs, and a donation to the Childhood Tumour Trust, which helps young people affected by neurofibromatosis and their families to go on summer camps.
In Yorkshire, more than £7,800 was donated. Highlights included colleagues at LKQ Euro Car Parts in Halifax donating to their local food bank, funding essential items for families in the community, including hot meals every Thursday.
Meanwhile, in LKQ Car Parts’ home region in the West Midlands, there were donations of more than £7,500. These included the company’s Tamworth branch donating to Simon’s Heroes charity, an organisation that improves the quality of life for local children with life-limiting illnesses.
Kevan Wooden, CEO at LKQ UK & Ireland, said: “We often fundraise at a national and industry level at LKQ, but the Community Branch Fund allows us to give back to the causes that really matter to our people and their communities.
“It’s been great to see our colleagues come together, take a genuine interest in each other’s stories and to support each other’s chosen causes.”
In 2024, LKQ UK & Ireland also saw the completion of its second annual business-wide ‘Summer of FUNdraising’, where 23 teams took part in challenges to raise money for selected charities Ben, Pieta and to bolster ongoing support for Ukraine.
