New erWin is live: one portal, eight brands, all official repair info

The Volkswagen Group’s official repair, maintenance and diagnostic portal has been rebuilt. UK workshops can register from 20 August — and existing users will need to switch to keep their access.

Getting official manufacturer data has often meant separate logins and licences for every brand. The new erWin changes that, bringing eight Volkswagen Group brands — Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra, Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini — into a single portal, with one login and one shop.

“What’s new is central access to eight Group brands through a single platform. Workshops can now manage all their licences and users in one place,” said Lasse Schmidt van Hülst, Head of Sales at Volkswagen Group Info Services AG.

The content stays where you expect it: repair, maintenance and ODIS diagnostic information continue to come from the brands’ official systems – for Lamborghini, diagnostic information only. New data and updates flow in continuously, so what you are working with is always current. A dedicated training area is on the way.

Also, when it comes to choosing licences, you’ll remain as flexible as you’re used to. Licences run from one hour to 365 days, and you only pick the brand you need – so you just pay for the time and the brands you actually use. Order a VW day pass without paying for Audi; add an hourly Škoda licence alongside an annual SEAT one. The same modular approach applies to the topic-based licences within each brand.

There’s one clear reason to act now: the previous erWin is being switched off, and existing logins are being phased out, so current users need to move across to keep access to official OEM repair information without interruption. Licences you have already bought stay valid until they expire, and annual licences can be transferred to the new portal – the licence ID and activation code come to you automatically by e-mail. New licences, though, can only be bought in the new erWin from go-live.

Getting started in the new erWin is as simple as 1–2–3. Access runs through the One Business ID, your organisation’s secure login to the Volkswagen Group’s business services. Have your company details to hand before you start.

1. Go to erwin.vwgroup-datahub.com and click “Log in” in the top right corner. You will be taken to the One Business ID pages.
2. Choose “Register new organisation”. On the following page, choose “Register manually” and click “Confirm”.
3. You will then be guided through the process – just provide the information as prompted. Please note: the first person to register a company automatically becomes its administrator.

At the end, you will receive an e-mail. Check your inbox, including the spam folder, then log in again to confirm your One Business ID. Set up multi-factor authentication for your account using an app such as “Google Authenticator”, “Microsoft Authenticator” or “Free OTP”. If SMS is offered as a second factor, do not use it. Registration itself only takes a few minutes.

One last step in the erWin portal: sign in with your One Business ID, select your organisation type so the right products are shown to you, and accept the erWin terms and conditions. Now you are ready to work.

After registering, you will be asked to verify your business, which needs some further company information. This may take a few weeks, but it runs in the background — you can already use erWin to its full extent while it is in progress.
