Oak agrees UK, Ireland tyres deal with Chinese firm

Oak Tyres has secured a partnership to exclusively distribute products from Chinese tyre manufacturer, Linglong Tire, across the UK and Ireland.

The UK tyre wholesaler, part of Oak Group Holdings, said the deal will complement its existing portfolio of exclusive and private brands, including Davanti, Landsail, Evergreen, Aptany, Delinte and newly launched Envoy.

Oak will be stocking Linglong’s full range of summer, winter and all-season products for the passenger car radial (PCR) series.

The partnership follows Linglong’s signing of a multi-year deal with Chelsea Football Club, as their new official global tyre partner. As part of that deal Linglong will provide the tyres for Chelsea’s official travel coach.

Peter Cross, commercial director of Oak Group Holdings, said: “We’re focused on growing our portfolio of products and international footprint, therefore working with the well-known Chinese-based tyre manufacturer was a great fit.”

Linglong chairman Wang Feng said: “As a leading tyre brand in the Chinese market, with OE supply agreements to prestigious vehicle manufacturers around the world, we are excited to grow our presence in the UK and Ireland market.”

Oak’s Davanti brand was showcased in Thailand last May as part of moves to expand within the lucrative regional market.

The move came just weeks after Oak said it had reached an environmental benchmark — offsetting 5,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions in association with Ecologi — which Oak said was the equivalent of nearly 13 million miles driven in a car.
