OSRAM launches new key fob battery range

OSRAM has expanded its aftermarket product range with the introduction of a new line of button cell batteries, aimed primarily at automotive key fob applications.

The new range, which will be available from mid-April 2027, extends the manufacturer’s offering beyond its established lighting products and more recent additions, including inspection lamps, dash cameras, wiper blades and solar chargers.

The new 3V lithium button cell battery range comprises 10 products, with OSRAM saying the range provides full coverage. While primarily intended for car key fobs, the batteries can also be used in products including watches, calculators, toys and hearing aids.

For factors and other stockists, OSRAM is also offering a launch stock pack containing 210 batteries, supplied with a wire display stand and header.

Terri Clark, Marketing Manager at OSRAM, said: “We think it’s really important for factors to have stock of key fob batteries, as they’re usually a distress purchase and, due to the low cost, can be impulsively bought by customers.

“We’ve also had feedback that they like to keep a stock of key fob batteries in case they need to quickly replace the battery in a key fob for their customer, creating a better customer relationship.”
