Refreshed brand and portfolio from Mintex

Brake friction technology specialist, TMD Friction, has revitalised its aftermarket braking brand Mintex.

With a heritage spanning more than a century, Mintex now presents itself with what it is calling a refined product portfolio and a modernised look and feel. This stronger brand identity is backed up by a new brand claim, ‘Driven by experience,’ which Mintex believes will help it stand out from its competitors and firmly cement it as a competitive, value-driven braking brand.

Founded in 1908, Mintex was supplying brake linings for the Ford Model T as early as 1910. Today, Mintex creates friction solutions for every drivetrain type.

In the 1930s, Mintex entered the motorsport sector, powering drivers across Formula One, endurance racing and rallying. That legacy continues today, still supporting racing series and rally events under the brand name Mintex Racing.

The Mintex product portfolio for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles includes brake pads and discs as well as drums, shoes, and kits. Its brake pad range covers 98% of the European car parc. Additional accessories, such as wear indicators, brake fluid, greases, and brake cleaner, complete the line-up.

Mintex brake pads are 100% copper and antimony-free, meaning as the industry tightens its regulations, Mintex products are ready for the future. A new packaging concept offers maximum protection for the brake pads during transport and is easier to stack for storage. In addition, with this latest refresh, the entire Mintex brake disc range is now fully coated, which protects against corrosion and ensures a clean surface and fast assembly.
