Ringing the changes to mark 50 years of success

Ring celebrates its 50th anniversary this year by turning the spotlight on its half-century of successes in the automotive lighting and electrics supply business.

It was in 1974 when Danny Rivlin had the idea of creating a company with a sole focus on distributing bulbs to the automotive aftermarket.

Since starting in lighting, primarily bulbs, Ring has expanded over the years into the wider automotive industry including tyres and battery care.

Ring is now active in more than 40 countries, with 25 product ranges for cars and commercial vehicles including the introduction of smart battery chargers to support growth in stop-start technology.

The range now provides motorists and technicians with a host of options for consumers and industry professionals.

To celebrate its successes, Ring’s team has produced limited edition gifts for customers with a custom-designed Lego kit and a specially brewed Yorkshire beer. Ring is also looking forward to its annual Ringmechanika event.

Ring MD Andy Gratton said: “We’re thrilled to reach our 50th year, it’s an incredible achievement for any company and we’re very proud of our people, products and far-reaching relationships including our valued customers and suppliers.”
