Study: BMW X Series is most damaged car

The most damaged car on UK roads is the BMW X Series, with 40% of those scrutinised by vehicle history checking service carVertical requiring repairs that costing an average of £4,100.


The next most commonly damaged vehicles according to the study that examined the figures from June 2022 to June 2023 are the Volkswagen Up! on 34.&% and and Peugeot 208 on 32.2%

When looking at the most sold used cars, the Vauxhall Corsa is the most probable to have been damaged, with 31% needing repairs at an average cost of £6,588.

Commenting on the findings, CarVertical Car Expert Matas Buzelis, said: “Anyone buying a second-hand car should do so knowing what happened in its past. This is especially the case with cars that have suffered serious damage, which can be hidden behind layers of fresh paint and concealed by unscrupulous sellers who fail to declare it. Badly damaged cars may suffer from ongoing defects that make them more trouble than they’re worth.
