The Turbo Guy expands into England with TCS acquisition

Glasgow-based turbo remanufacturing specialist, The Turbo Guy, has expanded its trade-only business south of the border, following the acquisition of Turbocharger Service UK (TCS) in Huddersfield.

TCS will initially continue operating under its own name and all seven staff are being retained — including founder Ian Goodall.

Goodall will work alongside The Turbo Guy MD, Allan Mitchell, to develop the company’s customer base in the UK.

The Turbo Guy said it has achieved continuous year-on-year growth since its launch in 2010 and the acquisition means it can now offer trade customers, including motor factors and parts distributors across the north of England, same-day delivery of its premium quality remanufactured turbos for cars and light commercial vehicles.

A tech support helpline will be introduced in the coming months to further support repairers.

Allan Mitchell said: “Our strategic acquisition of TCS represents a major milestone for The Turbo Guy, which will accelerate our growth ambitions and help take the business to the next level, in terms of product availability, technical expertise and customer service.
