TMD Friction UK and Ring Automotive team up for training
Ring Automotive has teamed up with TMD Friction UK on technician training at the braking provider’s new East Yorkshire research and development base.
TMD Friction’s new Seaton Ross-based facility opened in the summer, and undertakes product R&D activity, with tests carried out on the test track. The Ring Automotive team will be working at the site, undertaking training, as well as helping to support schools and colleges with a view to attracting talent to the automotive aftermarket. Staff attending the facility will be also kitted out with Ring’s MAGflex inspection lamps and lithium jump starters and battery analysers.
Ring Automotive Marketing Director Henry Bisson said: “We are delighted to be involved at TMD Friction’s new premises. The use of our automotive tech products in the new research and development facility underlines their professional and robust quality, and supports TMD Friction’s uncompromising approach to continuing professional development.”
Scott Irwin MIMI, Head of Technical Training at TMD Friction UK, added: “We really appreciate the support from Ring Automotive with the donation of these high-end products. It means that visitors to the facility, including students from schools and colleges, will have access to the best equipment to assist them with their training. Using these tools and expertise, we hope to inspire the next generation to consider the wide-ranging opportunities available in the aftermarket.”
The launch of TMD Friction’s premises at Seaton Ross follows a move from its previous proving ground at Elvington.
