UK Garage and Bodyshop Event backs programmes during National Apprenticeship Week
The UK Garage and Bodyshop Event has launched both a school pupil, work experience initiative and college student programme in partnership with School of Thought and Autotech Group, lined up to coincide, National Apprenticeship Week.
The event held at the NEC, Birmingham from 5 – 6 June, will support School of Thought’s work experience initiative with a first of its kind SHOW MAKER PROGRAMME, by offering 10 students the chance to become SHOW MAKERS, helping with event set up, while gaining an invaluable insight into the industry over the course of three days. ‘SHOW MAKERS’ must be in year 11 or above, have permission form signed by parent or guardian and be able to get to the NEC Birmingham and home for each of the three days between 8am and 3pm.There are 10‘places available, and those interested should email: email@example.com
The UK Garage & Bodyshop Event will also be launching its official student programme on 6 June for the first time at the show. Run in collaboration with Autotech Group, the student programme will seek to showcase the wide range of job roles available in the sector to young people. Dave Reece, founder of School of Thought, added: “The Year of Automotive Work Experience is in full swing, and we encourage all companies exhibiting at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event to offer young people a work experience placement in 2024 and into the future. All companies will be welcome on our stand to chat about how we as an industry can address the single biggest long-term problem.”
