Did you think Top Awards Finals Day was just for the competitors? Think again.

This year’s Top Awards Finals Day at the Delphi Academy in Warwick on Saturday 14 November is open to the wider industry, giving technicians and garage owners the chance to come along, see the competition in action and get involved in plenty more besides.
If you’ve ever thought about entering Top Technician, Top Apprentice or Top Garage, it’s a chance to see what really happens on Finals Day. Visitors will be able to watch live fault-finding challenges and see how technicians tackle the kind of complex problems they face in the workshop every day.
As host of the event, Delphi plays a big part in putting those challenges together alongside the judging team. Complex fault scenarios using a fleet of more than 15 training vehicles are chosen to represent different vehicle technologies and diagnostic challenges. Competitors are tested on more than simply finding the fault, with their diagnostic process, workshop best practice, technical knowledge and ability to work methodically under pressure all coming into play.
While the finalists are put through their paces, thanks to the competition’s sponsors, visitors will also have plenty to see and do.
TOPDON UK will have its show van on site, with kit ranging from battery testers to ADAS calibration equipment available to try. Snap-on will bring its diagnostic truck and the ‘Diagnostic Doctor’ to help you with your technical queries. Plus, Hofmann Megaplan’s ToolTruck will also be open for visitors to look around.
VARTA will be talking batteries, with practical advice covering testing, selection, replacement and battery management systems. Darren at Mechanic Mindset will also share recent diagnostic case studies and demonstrate the tests used to get to the bottom of them.
Garage Services Online will offer visitors a free digital MOT and competitor snapshot, showing how their garage performs online against local competitors, while LKQ Euro Car Parts will have its team available for a chat about garage management systems and other workshop topics.
There will also be more to see from JLM Liquid Tools, Garage Hive and Castrol & the Race Group, and thanks to HELLA, you can also grab a bacon bap while you watch some of the country’s best technicians being put through their paces. All they ask is for a donation of your choice to the industry charity, Ben.
The Ben team will also be there with their Ben Bus, competitions, giveaways and a raffle, with three pairs of tickets to the Ben Ball in December among the prizes.
So, whether you’re thinking of entering the Top Awards in the future, want to pick up a few diagnostic ideas, have a play with some new kit or simply fancy seeing what Finals Day is all about, come along and join us at Delphi Academy on 14 November.
