Garages ‘cashing in on extra retail work’

UK garage comparison site BookMyGarage has revealed it generated more than £22 million worth of additional retail work for its independent garage partners over just three months toward the end of 2024.

Chief marketing officer Jessica Potts said in a LinkedIn post that the figure reflected a 10% year-on-year increase, highlighting a growing trend among motorists to manage their vehicle maintenance through digital tools.

And she said the site was also on track to generate an additional £11 million in retail work this month — which would represent growth of nearly 40% compared to the same month last year.

“We are heavily invested in driving traffic to our website, enabling the independent sector to attract customers who might not have otherwise discovered their business.

“Our partners tell us that our platform drives high-quality customers who often remain loyal for ongoing service needs.”

BookMyGarage’s Accelerate package, launched in February 2024, has proven to be a driver of growth, the site said.

The package provides garages with a comprehensive suite of services, including social media campaigns and online booking functionality managed by BookMyGarage’s in-house team.
