IGA, Solera to launch EV and hybrid support partnership

A new partnership to provide workshops with technical knowledge and expert guidance to service EV and hybrid vehicles has been announced by the Independent Garage Association.
The IGA said ‘Autodata EV & Hybrid Support’, backed by the association’s specialist subsidiary, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance (HEVRA) and Solera Autodata, will launch next month.
The new service will combine HEVRA’s EV expertise with Solera Autodata’s globally trusted technical data, which the IGA said will create the UK’s most comprehensive support package for independent garages.
Participating garages will have access to specialist EV repair guides and data created by HEVRA, integrated with Autodata’s technical information.
‘Expertise’
The new platform will allow technicians to upload and verify their qualifications, giving them recognised status as EV-ready professionals and help customers identify workshops with proven expertise.
Stuart James, CEO of the IGA, said: “By combining Autodata’s trusted, comprehensive technical information with HEVRA’s specialist expertise, we are equipping independent garages with the confidence, skills, and recognition they need to not only adapt but excel in the electric vehicle era.”
Mark Tiana, Solera business development VP, said the shift to electrification is reshaping vehicle repair worldwide, and having the right data and expertise is essential for every workshop servicing EVs.
