GSF drives network forward with three new branches

GSF Car Parts has opened two new branches in Crawley (pictured) and Southgate — hot on the heels of launching another branch in Birmingham.

The Crawley and Southgate openings, on June 24, take the UK car parts distributor’s network of branches to around 190 nationally.

GSF’s 10,000 sq ft Birmingham branch, which opened on June 17, is strategically sited in the east of the city and has a fleet of five vans, two motorbikes and two electric Tuk Tuk-style bikes.

The new Crawley Regional Distribution Centre spans 22,000 sq ft and houses over £1 million in inventory.

As part of its ESG sustainability pledge, GSF has installed renewable heating in the state-of-the-art building, which also uses motion sensor lighting and a ground source heat pump.

Crawley supports the network with six inter-branch vans that operate three times daily, from Monday to Saturday, with plans to expand that fleet

Southgate, three miles from Finchley and equipped with three vans and four motorbikes, expands GSF’s coverage in London and aims to boost delivery speeds throughout the capital, supporting local garages, national accounts and click-and-collect customers.

The new branches come just weeks after Aftermarket reported GSF’s plans to open a 500,000 sq ft national distribution centre in Wolverhampton later this year.

GSF’s CEO Steve Horne said Birmingham, Crawley and Southgate are all key locations for the company.

Horne warned earlier this month the ongoing skills gap in the UK’s automotive sector was an “artificial straitjacket” around UK independent garages that was stifling potential and increasing costs for motorists.
