Ten weeks to go: move your workshop to the new erWin now

The old erWin closes on 31 December 2026. Four steps get your workshop across without a gap — and one of them is worth starting today.
The new erWin brings official Volkswagen Group repair, maintenance and diagnostic information from eight brands into one portal: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra, Audi and Bentley, plus diagnostic information for Lamborghini. One login, one shop and one overview of every licence in your business.
The old erWin stays available until 31 December 2026. After that, only the new portal is available. Workshops that register now keep working without a gap — and avoid doing it in the last week of the year.
Register your company
Start at erwin.vwgroup-datahub.com and click “Log in”, top right. Your company registers once for a One Business ID — your organisation’s secure login to Volkswagen Group digital services for business customers. Two-factor authentication runs through an authenticator app; SMS is not supported.
Agree first who registers: the first person to register your company becomes its administrator and manages every user and licence. Check, too, that no colleague has registered already — a second registration for the same business is rejected as a duplicate. Then add your users. Licences belong to the company, so any user in your account can use them.
Check for special rates
Organisation types with special rates need an additional check by the vehicle brands, which can take a while. If that applies to you, register early.
Get ODIS ready
For ODIS you need a working context for each brand. If you already work with ODIS you apply for nothing new: the number is on your Group Retail Portal account, top left. It combines the 3-digit country code, your 5-digit partner number and a brand letter, so a UK workshop’s Volkswagen context reads GBR12345V. Use the current number from the Group Retail Portal, not the old one from the previous erWin.
If you have not worked with ODIS before, you may not have a partner number yet — ask your importer for one now, for each brand you want to work on. It is the one step that depends on someone else, so start it today.
Store your working context once under My erWin > My profile. Then install ODIS — before you buy, because the licence period starts the moment you purchase.
Use up your old licences
Licences bought in the old erWin stay valid there until they expire — but only as long as the old erWin is accessible. Use them up by 31 December 2026. Annual licences are the exception: they can be transferred to the new portal with their remaining term. The licence ID and activation code are sent to you automatically by e-mail.
